ARTISTIC REPRODUCTION N. 25 LEKITHOS RED FIGURES

This is a terracotta art reproduction of a Lekithos with a red figure handle. This reproduction is made entirely by hand, turned and painted by local artists. To obtain this result, it is cooked twice with ancient techniques, which the local master potters have managed to discover after many attempts to reproduce these vases.

They are also artificially patinated by hand to give the object an "antique" effect, even if the decorations imitate the originals of the vases found in the Etruscan tombs of Cerveteri and other Etruscan necropolises, they are the result of the work and ingenuity of every master potter, and each work is unique and different from the other, they may seem similar but they are not.

The lekythos (in ancient Greek λήκυθος), in legal Italian [1] (/ ˈlɛʧito / [2]), is a vase with an elongated body, narrow neck with a single handle and a wide flared rim. It was used in ancient Greece and in the Magna Graecia areas to store and pour perfumed oil and ointments, it was used by athletes, in funeral ceremonies and as a sepulchral marker. The main function of the vase, conservation and sprinkling of oil, determined the evolution and stabilization of the shape, with a narrow neck that limits the leakage of the contents and a suitable rim to prevent waste. The term was used in antiquity for every type of vascular intended for this same use, including the ariballo, the distinction between the forms is a convention of the modern nomenclature [source wikipedia]

This reproduction of red-figure Lekithos with handle is 17.3 cm high, with a 4.8 cm foot and a 7.1 cm border, features drawings of an angel and a large phallus, with hand-made artificial patination, such as everything else, reference number 25

This is a unique piece, entirely turned, graffitied, baked, painted and patinated by hand.

This reproduction travels with a certificate issued by our shop where it is certified that this vase is an artistic reproduction of a Lekithos vase with red figures, in the certificate there are photos of the vase, the day of purchase and the tax receipt number or invoice (on request).
